Pedi a ajuda ao Poeta...

Extrai do todos-os-dias
O hoje de todo-o-sempre
Até ao fim do mundo
Quando o sol gelar
A última eternidade.
Embala amanhã nos braços dos outros
A criança esquecida
Que foi agora atropelada
Por mil automóveis
Em todas as ruas do mundo.

Procura nas lágrimas recentes
Os olhos de hão-de chorá-las
Daqui a dez mil anos.

E se queres a glória
De ser ignorado
Pelo egoísmo do futuro
Ouve, poeta do desdém novo:
Canta os mortos das barricadas
E a volúpia das dores do tempo.

(Mas pede às rosas
que continuem a repetir-se
até o fim das pedras...)
José Gomes Ferreira

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above poem is difficult to translate but I'll try to leave here a hint of what it is about.
It tells about the difficulty of facing present life and of the vain glory of making it into a sad poem that will bring an ephemeral reputation to the one (s) who can write it using no other tone but the one of desdain. At the end you have the poet asking you to beg roses to go on blooming till stones disappear in an attempt request of making today's world into Paradise.
