"Growing up" is really hard even for plants
It's hard to get into "adulthood"! This "baby" leaf is trying to "grow up"... it's all twisted up and its shape looks really unusual and weird. When it gets into a real "adult" leaf, it will have a darker colour and a straight shape. The example of what's going to be like can partly be seen on the left ...
